The next day 10 of June (Saturday), às 14h, the artist Flora Assumption participates in the Art Program – The chat House – Ema Klabin Museum. Flora discusses your artistic research that is organized through three axes: the myth, Science and literature.
The artist initiated your production in arts by drawing, painting and printmaking. Since 2002 her interest in the expansion of the scale of the drawing to the three-dimensional space and/or architectural and try installations and objects, using various materials, techniques and languages.
"Work on my artwork with themes related to the natural element and the fantastic (supernatural), in an attempt to reflect on the role of the human in the face of the natural world. Nature appears in the form of creatures (mainly small marine creatures, reptiles and plants) and natural phenomena (as a mist, storms, hurricanes, seas, clouds, deserts, volcanoes and Moonlight) under a mysterious atmosphere, unusual and fantastic brought legends, Myths and folk tales of Brazil and of the world ", explains Flora assumption uses this ruse to address other matters.
About the Artist:
FLORA ASSUMPÇÃO. 1983, MG. Lives and works in São Paulo, Brasil. Artist graduated (2008), master (2014) and PhD student from ECA-USP (2015-18). Works with drawing, painting, engraving, objects, facilities and urban interventions. In addition to the design and research of two-dimensional surfaces occupation, develops installation projects for specific architectures and/or for exhibition spaces, In addition to projects urban interventions, exploring the relationship of design with architectural scales for creating fictional environments with the intention of provoking immersive experiences of poetic character.
