Edmundo Cavalcanti é Artista Plástico, Colunista de Arte e Poeta.
Edmundo Cavalcanti is a Visual Artist, Art Columnist and Poet.

I met Sandra in April 2013, in an exhibition at the Gallery "Entrecores" and since then I have followed your step-by-step evolution as an artist and person. Since we were together in some art events, I met many artists and curators, event promoters, Anyway I owe her my introduction to the world of the arts, and your encouragement in my evolution as an artist, but this matter, It is not for these reasons, but the recognition of his talent, and his overcoming life.

In their work demonstrates his sensitivity Sandra, softness and love for what you do, transforming a simple photograph into a work of art.

"Shooting is not simply click, shooting is to create. "

Sandra Lozano é Fotógrafa e Artista Plástica.
Sandra Lozano is a Photographer and Visual Artist.

Where did you born? And what is your academic training?

My full name is Sandra Fernandes Lozano, use only his stage name Sandra Lozano.

Was born in São Paulo, capital. I graduated from Universidade São Marcos in Social work and clinical psychology at the University San Marcos.

How and when you give your first contact with the Arts?

As long as I can remember I have always loved everything connected to the art, as a child he loved to dance, play theater and depict what was in front of me, but this time I realized that never was. As a teenager won the 16 years a camera for which I fell in love. Took pictures different from my family was common, as for example, detail reflection and parts of a bicycle wheel, which were a cause for laughter, only I saw sense in photos and frustrated me with their response and didn't understand why they didn't see what I see. Only to 25 years ago I started my direct contact with art, I went to study photography, I won half a scholarship with artistic photos of Windows. Rode with a friend a children's parties decoration company and photographed all my works at parties. I created themes and he weaved the centerpieces and created wall panels that a person he weaved to me, or buy some reasons ready and rode the full picture on the wall of the Hall. After a few years, follow my party decorating work alone and include, Besides the photo, video footage along with another partner and friend photographer.

In this new episode, I ended up doing animation at parties with my character the tomboy Clown.

Obra A Empreitada

How did you find this gift?

Winning the scholarship at the school of photography, I realized that I had a tendency for artistic photo more than technique and the same happened with the videos and the making of the decorations that I created. But didn't see me as an artist, but as someone who had talent. The penny dropped, When I started to go in Opening and photographing. Heard people tell me that I shoot with art. I confess that I didn't understand a lot of what they meant. The first person who told me that I was an artist was Anna teenagers ' Anapana Malik, When you invited me to participate in the exhibition Between Rags. Anyway I was in doubt about what she was talking about. After I was baptized by Giuseppe Ranzine as photographic Artist, the way he photographed the exhibitions. But my recognition of this side of artist did with the guidance of Titina Corso, I found my sensitivity and poetry and performing a work in a more conscious and learned what a “concept "in art, at this point I realized I am an artist and was reborn for the art.

What are your main influences?

A photographer who really inspires me was Cartier Bresson, for your free photographing mode, made picture – Journalism reading the moment with a lot of property. Another photographer who really identify myself is the Ansel Adams when mentions: “In the background we can consider that the style should not be a dependent of the technique, the style is to shape the procedures and adapt them to the creativity of the photographer ".

Another factor that influences me is painting and drawing. Currently I am discovering the fine arts, with the study of colours and developing an intervention work using oil painting, acrylic, drawing with pens that are appropriate, color pencil, pastel, collage. Anyway different materials to intervene in my pictures, following a concept. As well as the digital intervention with filters and Photoshop tools.

What materials do you use in your works?

As I said above, I use digital intervention, by the computer and now oil painting techniques, acrylic and various drawing materials.

What is your creative process itself? What inspires you?

Everything inspires me to nature, people, the music, the colors, the wind, o sol, especially the light that offers me all poetry in the composition of a work, or write a poem. Do poems, that comes from the soul, of pure feeling. So how are made my works, feel and realize.

When you started effectively to produce or create your works?

Here I have a lot to write, but I shall try to be brief in an abstract if you can.

Well, as I said earlier, This creation, This my “be” artist, was already walking with me, but in a way not very aware. Always been here, sleeping in a home waiting for a click that could turn the light of living art with every emotion and feeling and be transported on a canvas. My reborn for the arts came from a scare. Like I said I'm a psychologist and work as such, but there was always a lack that I couldn't figure out what was. Life took me to various misfortunes and a thyroid dysfunction that led me to reach a weight of 144 kg, a morbidly obese. After a rigorous treatment to resolve the dysfunction was transferred to go through the process of gastric bypass surgery and the medical evaluations found a breast cancer. My world collapsed. Did the surgery, I was cancer free and be evaluated to perform radiation therapy, another scare paralyzed me, but this was the liberator. Because he could only do the procedure if I lost at least 26 kg in a month. At this point I realized everything I had done in my life and I decided to change. Nothing easy. But possible, because I went through a second surgery, reduce the stomach and eliminated 25 pounds and before a month I started radiation therapy. All this grief turned into sensitivity and a look at the world differently, the pictures come out with more excellence, my poetry with truth, my truth. I felt an open channel in my unconscious, was reborn making art leaving all this feeling and emotion out and be materialized through my creation.

Art is an intellectual production exquisite, where emotions are embedded in the context of creation, but in art history, we see that many artists are derived from other, following technical and artistic movements through time, you own any model or influence of any artist? Who would be?

Breathe me in overcoming, I let my unconscious guide me. I don't have a specific person that influenced me, but a whole that forms the history of art that until recently I did not know. Let me take the intuition, What I feel and see. But realize that any medium that influences me alive. It's a constant exchange in feel, to know and achieve the creation.

What does art mean to you? If you were to summarize in a few words the meaning of Arts in your life…

It means my life, Salvation, the rescue of myself. My reborn.

I'm a romantic in love with art, is photography, filming, music, dance, performing arts, painting, prints and sculpture, etc…, my work is all referenced in the “FEEL”, bring something else beyond the visual, Let emotion and sensibility transpired on the run.

The art for me goes beyond expression and trying to interfere in the spectator a new way to look and feel different reactions, but a way of life, where the sentiment speaks louder bringing the deepest exist of the artist his entire poetic manifestation to be in this world.

Art to me, In short, is live… IS LIFE…

What techniques do you use to express their ideas, feelings and perceptions about the world? (Whether it is through painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, photography… or uses several techniques in order to make a mix of different art forms).

I have answered above. But I will put here too.

Are: Photography, painting and drawing. Currently I am discovering the fine arts, with the study of colours and developing an intervention work using oil painting, drawing with pens that are appropriate, color pencil, Acrylic, pastel, collage. Anyway different materials to intervene in my pictures, following a concept. As well as the digital intervention with filters and Photoshop tools.

Every artist has his mentor, that person whom you mirrored that encouraged and inspired you to follow this career you, going ahead and taking your dreams the other expression levels, who this person is and how it introduced you in the art world?

As mentioned above some people have encouraged me, but who guided me and guides me is the Restorer, Teacher and teacher Titina Corso. Which showed me the fishing pole, me allowed me to build and so I would facilitate the fishing.
