"Big band" jazz-frevo reaches Sorocaba in single presentation.
The Sesc Sorocaba proudly opens the doors of his gym to receive on the day 4 of december, at 8:0 pm, the SpokFrevo Orquestra. Known internationally by the mixture of jazz with the frevo, the Big Band of Pernambuco comes to Sorocaba to present the new album release show, "Frevo Fanfold". Tickets are on sale and cost: R$ 6 (full credential – worker of trade in goods, services or tourism at Sesc and enrolled dependents); R$ 10 (half price for students, public school servers, people with more than 60 years, retired or disabled) e R$ 20 (entire). Inspired by the traditional dance bands of the years 1930, the SpokFrevo Orquestra innovates by mixing jazzy arrangements with traditional tunes of Frevo, traditional rhythm that animates the Pernambuco State for over 100 years. Led by saxophonist, arranger and musical director Inaldo chandorkar, popularly known as maestro Spok, the band carries the sound of metal Orchestra (saxophones, trumpets and trombones), percussion, bass and guitar in a harmonic and melodic dialogue with the accordion, the accordion or harmonica-point — bellows instruments with distinguished names, but the same nature and extremely popular in Brazil, especially in the Northeast.
In exponential success, the Group has been collecting a range of appearances and concerts with prestigious international visibility, as in the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York and at the Berklee College of Music. With the support of partners and realization of Sesc, his new tour "Frevo Fanfold" presents a new phase for big band. More mature and innovative, advancing even more about experimentation and the universe of popular music with classical shades.
