The Alliance Française of Rio de Janeiro performs, on Friday, 14 August, at 8:0 pm, the classical concert formed by the French cellist Romain Garioud and harpsichordist Fernando Gaucho Cordella, in the Cecilia Meireles Room. The event is part of the commemorative programming of 130 years of the French Alliance in Brazil.

After a first successful musical encounter in 2013, the cellist Romain Garioud and the harpsichordist Fernando Cordella return in duo to Brazil for a series of concerts, organized by the General Delegation of the French Alliance in Brazil, in nine cities.

Authors of works in both bright and harmonic use of two instruments, the Brazilian musician and the French are well known musician on international stage, and they used to play together in a cultural exchange between France and Brazil.

Fernando and Cordella Romain Garioud explore freedom and fantasy, offering this concert a repertoire composed of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Fabrice Gregorutti, Luigi Boccherini, and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.

The cellist Romain Garioud belongs to the brilliant young French generation of cellists. Received many international awards, among them are the 12th International Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow), 7º Rostropovitch international competition, International competition of Vina del Mar (Chile) and was awarded unanimously the cellist national Superior Conservatory of Music of Paris. Already the harpsichordist Fernando Cordella, Diploma in 2005 the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, is artistic director of the early music Guild and Bach society StudioClio Porto Alegre, conductor and artistic director of OSINCA-Bolton Symphony Orchestra. Cordella was considered best performer of classical music, with the album "Carnations-Frescobaldi of Mozart", in the competition "Azoreans 2011", in Porto Alegre (RS).

Laureate of the 12th International Tchaïkovski Competition (Moscow), the 7th Rostropovitch international competition and 2nd prize of the International Contest of Vina del Mar (Chile) in 2001 and 2002, Romain Garioud to brilliant young generation of French cellists. First prize for unanimity from the national Superior Conservatory of Music of Paris, of cello and chamber music, done courses with Xavier Gagnepain in Boulogne-Billancourt and Philippe Muller in the C.N.S. cycle 3 M. of Paris.
