During the month of March, francophone month, the book office of the French Embassy in Brazil and the French Alliances of Belém and São Paulo launch the cycle of debates “Thinking about ecology from the Amazon and Caribbean worlds”. The 4 meetings of this cycle of debates aim to explore and cross the ecological challenges and post-colonial issues in the Amazon and Caribbean worlds, within the scope of the continuity of the debates initiated by the Noite das Ideias 2020 (major annual event organized by the French Embassy in Brazil) on the theme of the forest, and the Night of Ideas 2021 in Belém on Pan-Amazonian Identities. Each table discusses, within their own themes, crucial current affairs, articulating them with post-colonial challenges and racial issues, on the other hand, and the ecology, another. The cycle aims to create synergies of reflection and cooperation through a regional approach between Brazil, French Guiana and the French-speaking Caribbean, also adding francophone Africa.
