Exhibition “All Over” in the Galerie des Galeries from 24 February

Curated by Samuel Gross and vertical stripes theme, the exhibition assembles works of
19 artists in the space dedicated to the Visual Arts of the traditional department store

Between 24 February and 14 de Mayo, to Galerie des Galeries -space devoted to the plastic arts of Galeries Lafayette Haussmann -hosts the exhibition "All Over", conceived by the curator and art critic Samuel Gross. The show brings together many abstract artists, of different nationalities and generations, whose works have as reason vertical stripes, recurring theme in the history of art and fashion. Hanging in a mural by John M. Armleder dressing the walls of art gallery, the screens are complementary and dialogue among themselves.

With the participation of artists Domenico Battista, Émilie Ding, Francis Baudevin, Frédéric Gabioud, Hans-Walter Müller, Ian Davenport, Jean-Michel Sanejouand, John M. Armleder, Lena Hilton, Liam Gillick, Lisa Beck, Mai-Thu Perret, Michael Scott, Olivier Mosset, Philippe Decrauzat, Stéphane Dafflon, Sylvain Croci-Torti, Sylvie Fleury and Vera Molnár, the exhibition carries the visitor into a single area composed of colors and abstract shapes, a playful space and restless that, and often, refers the public to the universe of pop art.

From the chosen theme, vertical stripes, Gross proposes an exhibition in which artists question or exercise the abstraction. In shows, It is evident how each relates to the theme, resulting in works that embody their conceptual reflections. And why choose Galerie des Galeries to host the exhibition? The curator himself responds: "The idea of my exhibition takes off from the very special architecture of this space, whose architectural elements are extremely emblematic ".
