Interview

1- Where did you born? And what is your academic training?

I was born in Rio de Janeiro. I started on a course near my home in 1996. I studied in some studios, I did a workshop and I have a degree in arts education with a degree in fine arts.

2- How and when you give your first contact with the Arts?

Identifying myself with art and bringing it into everyday life. Both in studies and in practice.

3- How did you find this gift?

Since baby. My grandmother said to me when she saw my abstract doodles. She said I would be an artist. It wasn't?

4- What are your main influences?

Realism, modern, Impressionism, pop art.

5- What materials do you use in your works?

I like the versatility in trying new tools. From graphite to oil. In these experiments I used paper, glitter, scraping and wall putty.

6- What is your creative process itself? What inspires you?

Nature fascinates me. An instrumental, incense, plants around and my kittens.

7- When you started effectively to produce or create your works?

In 2009.

8- Art is an intellectual production exquisite, where emotions are embedded in the context of creation, but in art history, we see that many artists are derived from other, following technical and artistic movements through time, you own any model or influence of any artist? Who would be?

I am eclectic. I have several influences: Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Monet, Van Gogh, Warrol e Kandinsky.

9- What does art mean to you? If you were to summarize in a few words the meaning of Arts in your life…

Art showed me that, it's beyond the brush. Encounter with my emotions, balance. Teach me how to carry a message to the better world.

10- What techniques do you use to express their ideas, feelings and perceptions about the world? (Whether it is through painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, photography… or uses several techniques in order to make a mix of different art forms).

I identified with impressionism and watercolor.

11- Every artist has his mentor, that person whom you mirrored that encouraged and inspired you to follow this career you, going ahead and taking your dreams the other expression levels, who this person is and how it introduced you in the art world?

I had some on this walk, but what made the difference was the Ricardo Chancafe. He taught me to look beyond technique.

12- You have another activity beyond art? You teaches classes, lectures etc.?

Yes. I'm a drawing and painting teacher. My studio is in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

14- Your plans for the future?

Always learn more and take my knowledge forward. And be recognized.

15- Andin your opinion what is the future of Brazilian art and its artists? (in the general context) and why so many artists are giving preference to show their work in international exhibitions despite high costs?

I see the future in Brazil, we have so much wealth! It only lacks the change of mind that art only has value outside. Also thank you for your project that has encouraged many artists not to give up on their dreams.

Unfortunately culture is for few, and this minority that has conditions, invests to tempt the market for status and recognition.
