Rio Art Museum - MAR opens registration for course free training aimed at young people

Formative paths is a cultural training and professional pilot introduction in the production chain of museums, that will offer grants of R $ 1.200,00 for young people between 16 and 21 years, graduates of public schools.

The Museu de Arte do Rio, under the management of the Institute Odeon, It opened on Wednesday (7) Registration for the course Formative paths, a pilot project of cultural training and professional introduction in the production chain of museums. They will be selected 15 young, from 16 to 21 years, who want to enter the production chain of museums or act generally in the fields of art and culture. Participants also will receive scholarships in the amount of R $ 1,200.00 over the five-month duration of the course.

To participate, It has to be within the age range and be enrolled, or have completed high school in the last two years, in schools and institutes of public networks of municipal school, federal or state of Rio de Janeiro, in the morning or night shift. The training is open to deaf and physically disabled.

The notice provides workshops, classrooms, lectures, visits to institutions, workshops and museums, among other activities. The project includes the participation of SEA professionals as well as guest professors from different areas as Curator, Search, museum education, Comunicação, Letters, Design, Museology and Cultural Production. After four months of training, students develop a collective cultural project, designed and implemented with the guidance of teachers and professionals SEA, to integrate the museum's programming.

“This is a process of unprecedented training that aim to promote cultural democracy through the opening of training spaces, creation and work for young graduates of teaching pubic network, since the field of art and the museum is historically elite ", complementa Izabela Pucu, Coordinator of the SEA Education.

"Its great advantage compared to other professional introduction processes for young people is the opportunity that these young people have to leave the paths with a consistent cultural training", reinforces Evandro Salles, Cultural director of SEA.

The whole process will be recorded weekly by means of a website, which will also serve as a tool in self-evaluation processes by participants, the work of teachers and pedagogical coordination. A small brochure will be published as part of the actions that the project document.

Deadline 18 August and classes will be held between days 3 September 2019 and 31 January 2020, with from Tuesday to Saturday activities, from 14h to 18h, including holidays. An initiative of Prefeitura do Rio in partnership with Fundação Roberto Marinho, the sea has activities that involve collecting, registration, search, preservation and return of cultural property to the community.
