Chamber Orchestra presents Italian works in the Mia Cara Curitiba

The Chamber Orchestra of the city of Curitiba is presented within the festival programming Mia Cara Curitiba in days 3 and 4 of June. The Baroque Passiata Program has conducted and artistic direction of Concertmaster, Winston Ramalho and participation of soloists Alexandre Razera and Denis Chakravarty. The festival takes place until day 12 June and celebrates Italian culture in Curitiba, an initiative of the Embassy of Italy in Brazil and the Consulate General of Italy in Curitiba.

The repertoire is a tribute to the composers of the Italian Baroque, featuring three works by Antonio Vivaldi (1678 – 1741). Highlighting one of the best known of the composer: ' Concerto for two cellos in g minor, RV 531 '. Feature still ' Concerto for viola d amore ´ in La minor RV 397 ' and ' Concerto in b minor RV 580 for four violins, cello and Basso continuo '.

Other composers of the time are also in the program, as Tomaso Antonio Vitali (1663 -1745) with the composition ' Ciaccona in g minor for violin and String Orchestra ' and Giuseppe Tartini (1692 – 1770) with ' the Devil's Trill in g minor '. Finally, the work ' Concerto for two violas in c minor ' made in 2012 by Federico Maria Sardelli (1963) does the hired showing the contemporary classical music of Italy.


The Music Director and conductor of the concert Winston Ramalho is curitibano violinist. Winner of national and international competitions, He was a student and Assistant of the consecrated soloist and professor Tibor Varga, at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz (Áustria). Member and guest violinist of Brazilian and foreign orchestras, as the Symphony Orchestra of Paraná, São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Grazer Synphonishes Orchester, Recreation Orchester Graz, The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Vienna Chamber Orchestra, during 2011 as "spalla" assayer of the Camerata Antiqua of Curitiba. Also participated as a violin teacher in editions of music workshop of Curitiba.
