Parque Lage – IUPERJ offers the first Graduate Trustees for training in Rio de Janeiro

Inaugural class, open to the public, will be on 14 March (on wednesday),
with the artist Marcos Chaves and curator Paulo Sergio Duarte

IUPERJ and the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage present course graduate "broad sense" Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, with coordination of art critics and curators Paulo Sérgio Duarte and Jorge Sayão. Graduate school, the first and only of Rio de Janeiro, It will be held March 2018 to May 2019, on Tuesdays and Thursdays (18h45 to 22h). The inaugural lecture "Marcos Chaves in dialogue with Paulo Sérgio Duarte", with an introduction by Jorge Sayão, will be on 14 March (Fourth), at 19h, open to the general public.

The course will be divided into three areas – Planning and Production Exhibition, Art History and Philosophy and Art Theory – and has teachers like PhD in Art History Elisa Byington, Doctors in Philosophy Fernado Augusto Rodrigues da Rocha and Bernardo Oliveira, producer Luiza Mello, a designer Evely Grumach, illuminator Roger Emerson, besides the coordinators, among other researchers and professionals in the field of visual arts.

The aim of the course is to qualify the healing activity of art offering technical training and methodologically sound, with theoretical and practical foundations, formation surpassing, then in force in Brazil, the only practical nature, in equaling the curatorial training model of the world's great art centers, thus enabling the future healer to solve the problems concerning the various stages of an art exhibition.
