1- Where did you born? And what is your academic training?

(Guaratinguetá-SP) where I developed as a person and an artist.

I am self-taught, I have no academic training!

2- How and when you give your first contact with the Arts?

With art consciously it was from the 12 years, with studies and readings by the great masters interacting with other artists.

Ruiy Moura é Artista Plástico.
Ruiy Moura is Plastic Artist.

3- How did you find this gift?

I always say I was born with pencils and brushes in my hands, I drew and painted with colored pencils and watercolors even before I went to primary school.

4- What are your main influences?

First I fell in love with the Renaissance Masters, by the expressionist Masters by the modernists, by primitive art and baroque art. I was learning and taking a walk through these artistic influences and developing my own way or style with incentives from artist friends. And so I developed my art and I fit NAIF ART: where I could freely create my works with modern primitive tones contemporary baroque.

5- What materials do you use in your works?

Beyond painting on canvas, artistic embroidery (family rescue) like textile art and marché paper.

6- What is your creative process itself? What inspires you?

It's free on the themes that inspire me, like Brazilian folklore and myths, as well as our religiosity, childhood and family memories or even traveling in a dream or playful world. I can paint a Saint today and tomorrow paint a seamstress aunt or a folklore scene, Naif gives me that.

7- When you started effectively to produce or create your works?

In the mid 70 already painted and exhibited at fairs and squares in São Paulo, from the years 80 to participate in Salons and collective.

8- Art is an intellectual production exquisite, where emotions are embedded in the context of creation, but in art history, we see that many artists are derived from other, following technical and artistic movements through time, you own any model or influence of any artist? Who would be?

See, already wanted to be one Gauguin, one Klimt, one Botticelli, one Dalli, Van Gogh, one Di Cavalcanti or one Guignard and some others. So that now, there was no way, since, they were what they were because they were unique, as I am unique and everyone is in me because they inspired and permeated my composition as an artist. Henri Rousseau wanted to paint with his contemporary friends, but I couldn't because of their lack of academics and even aesthetics. He was discriminated against and even ridiculed by some, until your friend Picasso defined it as Naive (ingénue), so he became a reference as a father of art Naive, that already existed as art, but I had no recognition.

9- What does art mean to you? If you were to summarize in a few words the meaning of Arts in your life…

"MY LIFE, MY AR ”.

14- Your plans for the future?

Keep making art until the end!

15- In your opinion what is the future of Brazilian art and its artists? (in the general context) and why so many artists are giving preference to show their work in international exhibitions despite high costs?

The Brazilian Plastic Art has had a productive and creative resumption in this decade and is expanding, experienced numbness or despondency for a period (exception the graffiti that won the streets and the world). Today I see her alive and active, we have many exhibitions and salons happening all over Brazil and revealing new artists. Art in Brazil has always been little encouraged by our governments, maybe that's why some artists are investing in international exhibitions to appreciate themselves and have a curriculum that I think is valid!
