Collective exhibition Shadow Zones is open for registration by plastic artists residing in the State of São Paulo

The public call for the exhibition, that will take place at the Municipal Pinacoteca of São Bernardo do Campo, it is open until the day 09 April.

The project, which will have free access to the public, reflects in its curatorship the artistic concern with themes related to climate emergencies.

Are open, through of this form, registration for the collective exhibition of visual arts Shadow Zones, a production Culture Gap, with opening scheduled for the day 27 of may in Municipal Pinacoteca of São Bernardo do Campo.

The exhibition will feature works by nine artists., seven of them selected through a call, available to interested artists until the day 9 April.

The curatorship is in charge of, Allan Yzumisawa, Horrana de Kássia Santoz and Jurandy Valença and chooses as an expographic clipping, works that foment the debate about the ecological destruction, future diagnostics, the burning of memories and issues that permeate the field of geology, of nature and its preservation, raising relevant discussions about the environment.

About Allan Yzumizawa

Researcher of culture and contemporary art, acts as curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Sorocaba (MACS).

PhD student in Art History at UNIFESP, Master in Visual Arts by the Graduate Program in Visual Arts at the State University of Campinas (PPGAV-UNICAMP) and BA in Visual Arts from UNICAMP.

Among the main projects as curator, stand out: Bodies of Red Water (Proac Award 2021), "The Invention of the Hero", MAC Sorocaba (2022), “A meeting is an impossible place”, Centro Cultural dos Correios, São Paulo (2022) and “Ka’a Exercise”, Arapuca Art and Culture Center, Conde-PB (2022).

He is interested in contemporary art productions displaced from hegemonic centers and in regional cultural manifestations in Brazil and their relations with postcolonial theories.

About Jurandy Valenca

Visual artist, curator, journalist and cultural manager, has been operating in the area for more than 25 years, and is currently Director of the Mário de Andrade Library, the 2nd largest in the country and the largest in the state of São Paulo.

He was deputy director of the São Paulo Cultural Center [CCSP], general coordinator of cultural centers and theaters of the São Paulo Municipal Secretariat of Culture; general coordinator of the Oswald de Andrade Cultural Workshop, cultural equipment of the State Secretariat of Culture of São Paulo; and director of projects at Instituto Cultural Hilda Hilst, Campinas (SP).

As a visual artist and curator, works in photography since 1998. participated in more than 70 exhibitions, between individual and collective. Received acquisition awards in 2002, 2003 and 2004, and has done more than 15 curatorships.

In 2003 was the subject of a documentary shown on TV Sesc-Senac (“The World of Art” series). Jury of several salons and public notices of PROAC visual arts, from the Secretary of State for Culture of SP, and several notices of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture of SP, was editor of Mapa das Artes São Paulo for 16 years, and responsible for more than two years for the Art column, Bemglô's Culture and Behavior, digital platform and physical store, project by actress Gloria Pires and former model and businesswoman Betty Prado.

About Horrana by Cassia Santoz

Horrana de Kássia Santoz has a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2011) and acts since 2007 in the development of new educational practices in museums and cultural spaces such as, art-educator, mediator, researcher, production assistant and curatorial assistant.

between february 2021 to January 2023, was Curator of Research and Transdisciplinary Action, based on the unprecedented partnership between the Ivani and Jorge Yunes Collection and Pinacoteca de São Paulo, being responsible for the museum's public program and the development of artistic activations and transdisciplinary projects, such as the artistic commission program “Modern Acts” in addition to being part of the curatorial body of the exhibition “square floor: works from the Pinacoteca de São Paulo collection” Opening exhibition of Pinacoteca Contemporânea.

Santoz also worked in the Mediation and Public Programs nucleus of the Museum of Art of São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP) between 2017 to 2021, organizing the Independent Program (PIMASP), organized the schedule of free courses at MASP Escola, in addition to being the curator of the MASP Video Room between 2018 and 2020.

Integrated the Culture Factories program, through the manager Poiesis between 2013 until 2017, initially as artistic-pedagogical assistant and artistic-pedagogical supervisor at Fábrica de Cultura Jardim São Luis. In 2022 was a jury at the 11th edition of the 3M Art Show, curated by Camilla Rocha Campos; on Call 2022-2023 VoA for Women Artists and Non-binary People and at the 8th Instituto Tomie Ohtake Arts Prize – Women's Edition.
