Molasses is designed to meet the demands of the EGG YOLK when he conceived the show: a couple with different researches, that could expose in the same moment; a curatorial look that saw a symbiotic relationship between the distinct researches when placed side by side and the celebration, in the period, do Saint Anthony's Day, patron saint of couples in love.

“The convergences are natural consequences of the set of works”, explains the curator. The human body is a common point among the themes developed by Arthur Ferreira and Felipa Queiroz . in different ways, both end up exploring transmutations of the male figure, either by exaggerating the anatomical proportions of the body, or in the retraction of characters from the television imaginary of the turn of the century.

The joining point of Molasses is in the functions that the name suggests: mel, affection, unity, affection, intimacy, to be one in two. While Felipe, androgen, borderline gender figure, creates paintings on the analysis of the most androgynous male figure with special attention to the way the support is mounted – it provides dynamism to the final work. Artur demonstrates greater intimacy with the drawing of the human that allows him to exaggerate in some proportions; freedom possible through anatomical knowledge. Your work is more sober, charcoal on raw canvas.

The dichotomous disparity, instead of distancing them, approaches. The unconscious notion of belonging to the couple's universe, makes for idyllic curatorial readings. Photographs positioned next to sculptures, “cause the imaginary to create a relationship between the two: when a candle meets a soap?”, exemplifies Eduarda Freire.

Molasses leads us to a reading of the whole that suggests the intimacy of the couple.

and GEMA

EGG YOLK is an emerging contemporary art hub, dedicated to promoting the production and dissemination of artists who have never been represented by galleries. Works as an art consulting tool, focusing on independent artists. Gather a collection in one space, in São Paulo, and until the present moment it works in temporary places that allow face-to-face exhibitions. This time, works with fifteen artists, but also focuses on encouraging artists who are outside their team, through initiatives such as holding individual exhibitions of these, or inclusion in group exhibitions. GEMA presents itself as a new option to promote the artistic circuit, alternatively to the conventional white cube exhibition model.
