In this fourth round table with Jac Leimer and Vera Chaves Barcellos discusses artistic experiences in recent decades

The artistic production in recent decades will be discussed by Jac Leimer and Vera Chaves Barcellos with round table in the Oscar Niemeyer Museum, This Wednesday (20/06), a partir the 19h. Free, the event will have the mediation of the artist Livia Piantavini and integrates the project activities “Spherical painting” Tony Camargo, made possible through the Program for Support and Promotion of Culture of the Curitiba Cultural Foundation.

The Artist's invitation, the duo participates in the event in order to discuss their artistic experiences over the past decades. The meeting is part of the programming "Seleta chromic and Objects", exhibition runs 20 years on the production of Paraná Tony Camargo, Poster in the Oscar Niemeyer Museum to 01 th July 2018.

Jac and Vera are two Brazilian artists who hold a dialogue with the international scene, his productions, conducted over 50 years, no case of Vera; and along 30 years, in the case of Jac; highlight the historical density of Brazilian art in the second half of the century 20.

Active since the late 1960, Vera lifted prominent level in the international art scene to represent Brazil at the Venice Biennale, in 1976. Its multiple and diverse production can be characterized by expanded playing field in the ability to perceive what surrounds you. In 2004, Vera Chaves Barcellos instituted in Porto Alegre a cultural foundation that bears his name, dedicated to the diffusion of contemporary art.

Jac Leimer has achieved international recognition in the early 1990, to participate in exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and Documenta in Kassel and have acquired works by institutions such as the Moma, Guggenheim, Tate, Reina Sofia, also participated in important exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, Havana and Sao Paulo.

The exhibition "Seleta chromic and Objects" consists of paintings, drawings, photographs, videos and objects that combine geometric shapes and vibrant colors in a systematic conceptual order, in which Tony Camargo summarizes important poetic issues of Brazilian art produced from the years 2000.
