Interview

Guillermo, tell us a little about yourself ...

Rodeo Native, Durango, Mexico, profession, rural teacher, formei-me no Normal Rural J. Guadalupe Aguilera de Canatlan, Durango.

Guillermo Aldaco é Artista Plástico.
Guillermo Aldaco is a Plastic Artist.

My artistic training started when I met my Master in Fine Arts Manuel Nava and I was amazed by his art, passionate love for art and painting was born and emerged from within me.

What kind of art do you like best?

I usually practice the oil on canvas technique, using the double message and the structure that gives a three-dimensional effect to the image. Recently, I integrated a new technique known as Speed Painter, which consists of painting an inverted portrait against the light in six minutes; accompanied by a rhythmic melody ending in unison.

These techniques have their own style in execution and results and that is what makes the difference in each artist.

Also chiaroscuro work, coffee-based watercolor and ink (edible).

Cite if you had artistic influences in your works and which artists?

I have great respect for every artist who proposes to do magic with a brush, pencil or chalk, my applause and admiration. But who I admire and my work reflects that are Vincent Van Gogh, Miguel Angel e Caravaggio.

Do you have a family member or acquaintance who is an artist?

My daughter Marbella, who just finished his BA in Visual Arts, has a great future in art. Her technique is oil on canvas and she prefers self-portrait in a magical and professional way, besides the use of other visual arts like sculpture, music and graphic design.

Living from art is possible?

If you live on art, as long as our work is original and worked with love, dedication and effort. Likewise, with greater breadth in its dissemination and promotion, the family of the work grows…

And there will always be someone in the world who wants a painting of you, the paintings themselves make their way, or close it.

Be constant and above all, do not abandon style and technique.

Ever thought about not acting with more art? can comment why?

Art is my passion, my lifestyle, my therapy and stress relief. Facilitates the expression of my feelings, opens my mind and massages my brain and nervous system. Is genius!!!!

What skills are needed today for the artist?

Without doubt, be creative, imaginative and do your job with love. With all your humanity. It's like making a child with very varied techniques and with the best materials.

What do you feel when you create or appreciate a work of art?

Which art has impressed you the most so far?

All art is beautiful, especially the one that the Supreme Lord offers us through nature, a beautiful sunset causes us admiration.

This is how a beautiful painting impresses us, a beautiful melodic piece, a detailed sculpture, a perfect dance performance, the art is… The awakening of sensitivity and doing all the tasks of life perfectly. It is formative and educates our attitudes.

You must always be creating or creating only at certain times?

Good, I'm almost always creating, when a pencil or pen is at hand, I immediately sketch, inspiration has been painting, in dreams or like a spark in my mind.

The product of your work is unique or has a close or distant relationship to your previous work?

In General, the product is unique, the technique is the one that prevails in each work, it gets better with the task and the market. There are similarities, but the job is unique.

What are the challenges of art / artist in the current scenario?

The biggest challenge in my view is to stand out in this technological world where art and culture are not considered essential elements. Another is to keep the technique and create with freedom, loving your job, because there are times when the cosmos is not aligned so that you feel inspired.

Social networks have helped you to spread your work?

Affirmative, social networks have supported me in that sense, I avoid the invasion of labels with themes unrelated to my work to give them thematic exclusivity. Social media is very productive when directed correctly.

How you analyze the qualities of a work of art?

The quality of a work of art, in my personal opinion, is defined by your technique, composition, contrast definition, visual impact, implicit and technical message.

What are the criteria for stipulating the value of a work of art?

The criteria for evaluating a work of art that I consider are those that make it unique and known in the art world, a work with the characteristics mentioned above or with simple lines, can only be quoted with the impact and the message it leaves.
