Official sword of the Imperial Army of Dom Pedro II goes to auction in São Paulo

That is the description of one of 400 lots that will be auctioned between 13 and 14 May through the website www.dutraleiloes.com.br. Luiz Fernando Dutra, traditional auctioneer with more than 30 years of market experience, clarifies that virtual auctions have been held for some time, but with the pandemic, ended up being an excellent alternative to not only acquire new works of art but also to have an unusual experience in this time of confinement.

The auction has several other lots, including a painted portrait of Beth I, made in 1938 by artist Anita Malfatti; a painting by Clóvis Graciano, Departure of Bandeirantes, oil on plate 52×130 cm, that this is the study for the panel of 220 x 650 cm, performed by the artist in 1969 and that decorates the Noble hall of the Anchieta Palace, São Paulo City Hall, among other works.
