The Gabo Foundation, which this year completes twenty-five years of being founded by journalist and Nobel Prize for Literature Gabriel García Márquez, and its Rector Council, announce the opening of applications for the Gabo Prize, the most important recognition of journalism in Spanish and Portuguese.

As in previous editions, the Gabo Award 2020 recognize works presented in all journalistic genres and publication media. The text, video, the photography, the documentary, the radio, the podcast, animations or graphic works presented by a person or a team can be entered.

The Gabo Prize aims to promote better journalism, the pursuit of excellence, the innovation, rigorous treatment of facts and ethical consistency in journalists who regularly work and publish in Spanish and Portuguese for the American public, Spain and Portugal.

The Prize will be awarded to journalistic works published for the first time in Spanish or Portuguese between April 1, 2019 and 30 June / 2020.

SCHEDULE

- Awards: $35.000 Colombian pesos.
