Rosângela Vig is a Visual Artist and Teacher of Art History.

(…) Now, when the others are asleep, he is bent over his desk, casting the same look on a sheet of paper that he had just given to things, struggling with his pencil, his pen, his brush, throwing water from the glass, wiping the feather on his shirt, rushing, violent, active, as if the images escaped from him, pugnacious, but alone and struggling with himself. And things are reborn on paper, natural and, more than natural, beautiful; singular and endowed with an enthusiastic life as the soul of the author. (BAUDELAIRE, 2007 p. 23-24)

The artists are avid readers of the world around them. The images are offered to them as gifts. They go to the blank paper, to the white screen and reproduce this universe as they see it, with the impressions perceived, with the colors that their gaze reach. The work is like this, a treat for the heart, a delicacy for the soul, a caress to the eye of the spectator.

This is the purpose of the International Painting Exhibition “Conversations with the Cultures of the World”, at the El Greco Museum, in Fodele, Greece, organized by the Fodele Cultural Association “Domenikos Theotokopoulos”. The exhibition was co-organized by the Region of Crete and the Prefecture of Malevizi. It will be a delight for the observer, who walks through the colors, shapes and beauty, of the works of artists from around the world, carefully selected by Curator, Magdalena Wozniak-Melissourgaki (Greece).

The visual panorama is composed of 26 paintings, with subjects, themes, styles and varied techniques, which include charcoal, oil, acrylic, soft pastel, watercolor, spatula and graphic design. The exhibition was co-organized by the Region of Crete and the municipality of Malevizi, it has already started and will remain open to the public until 30 August, in the exhibition space of the El Greco Museum in Fodele, from 9 am to 7 pm: 00 of the night. On 8 August, at 8 pm, there will be an official opening, with musical event. During the Exhibition period, on 22 August, Saturday, there will be a Children's Painting Workshop (contact for participation: 2810 521 500). During the exposure period, health protection measures will be observed.

Traveling through the colors and forms of Art is more than giving a gift to the spirit, it is to free oneself from the concerns of the world and let oneself be carried away by the hands and the creative mind of artists, flying away to the directions where their works lead, freely.
