The choir and the Orchestra of the Camerata Antiqua of Curitiba travel this week for appearances in Winter festivals of Antonina and Campos do Jordão. The Camerata choir performs on Wednesday (19), at 8:0 pm, in the historic São Benedito Church, in Antonina, within the programming of the 27th Winter Festival of UFPR. The Chamber Orchestra of the city of Curitiba, two presentations, on Thursday and Friday (20 and 21), in São Paulo and in the city of Campos do Jordão, at the invitation of the festival, one of the most traditional music events in the country.
In Antonina, the Camerata choir will be under the baton of conductor and musical director Mara Fields. On the program are works by composers from different periods and styles, as Tom Jobim, João Bosco, Osvaldo Lacerda, Mozart Camargo Guarnieri, among others. "What prevails in the program is the sacred and spiritual theme. However be varied, they have a wire. The sound varies between simple and delicate compositions and also much improved, and other with a stronger and more expansive expression ", comments the Regent. Admission is free.
Paulista tour -With Regency of maestro Luís Otávio Santos, the Chamber Orchestra of the city of Curitiba is presented on Thursday (20), in the prestigious Sala São Paulo, one of the most important concert spaces of the country. On Friday (21), the Orchestra will be in Campos do Jordão for a concert in the Church Santa Terezinha. On the program are works that demonstrate the virtuosity and the excellence of the Group, and rescue little-known Baroque composers, as Georg Muffat, Francesco Geminiani and Jean-Marie Leclair.
"Baroque music has two predominant aesthetics, the Italian and French. For this program, the composers were defined base of each universe ", explains Luís Otávio. "They are little-known composers, but that helped substantiate and create the language of the Baroque. Choose a directory to show well the eloquent and rather broad universe, with all the inventions that have been the hallmark of this period ", reinforces the Regent.
Disclosure -The violinist and coordinator of the Chamber Orchestra, Francisco Freitas Jr. evaluates that the tour is part of a golden phase of Camerata. "These trips contribute to strengthen our identity and our work", evaluates Freitas.
The challenge and responsibility to play in other spaces and cities were highlighted by Janete Andrade, classical Coordinator of Curitiba Institute for art and culture. "These invitations show artistic recognition group. Playing in a festival of Campos do Jordão and São Paulo, that is the Mecca of classical music in the country, has some big shoes to fill ", stresses Janete.
