A pass from Didi, Garrincha advances
Glued the leather to the feet, the watchful eye
dribbles one, dribbles two, then rest
How to measure momentum bid.

The presentiment comes to you; he launches himself
Faster than thought
dribbles one more, more two, the braid ball
Happy between your feet – a foot of wind!

In one transport the contrite crowd
In the act of death, stand up and scream
Your unison song of hope.
(MATHEW, 2008, p.147)

The poetry of Vinícius de Moraes brings to mind the names of two great celebrities of Brazilian football. It may be that they are far from the memory of those who celebrate their teams on the field today.. The times were good for these great sportsmen who took the name of Brazil far away, that made the crowd delirious as they ran across the field leading the ball to the main goal of a game.

This passion for football is what Casa Brasil Liechtenstein and Artnatic celebrate, at the 8th Salon of Brazilian Art, This year. always innovative, the curation, addressed the passion for football as a theme, that today is not only Brazilian anymore.

And the joy of this alluring sport will be on display in the form of artworks, under the artistic gaze of contemporary Brazilians. In collaboration with Gasômetro and Petra Büchel, Brazilian curators Bruno Portella and Francisca Voutat chose works that show the diversity of the Brazilian art scene.
