In search of an innovative meaning, the store includes a mix of Art Gallery, bookstore and play area, with Brazilian artwork, contemporary design, jewels, books that travel through the world of art, philosophy, architecture, general and children's literature, as well as popular and educational toys, among other Brazilianities carefully mined throughout the country, and that set the tone of the plural wealth that the gallery store represents.

The gallery store makes it accessible to the public, works made by the creative hands of associations, indigenous and quilombola collectives from different regions of Brazil, and directly or indirectly offers sustainability to many artists who make up the Brazilian creative economy. This is the case with the nets, a group of artisans from the São Pedro Fishermen's Colony, located in the extreme south of Brazil, that recycles fish scales, fishing nets and fish leather and transforms these materials into consumer dream products, like Lagoa dos Patos bags (photo). Another example of sustainability encouraged by the Brazilian Hand are the products produced by Legal Family Institute by Bonito, MS, that turns battered mailbags into sensational bags. It's rubbish turned into high-quality art.

The Brazilian Hand is curated by the creator Luiz Fernando Pontes, there 40 years research Brazilian Popular Art. “All items to be presented reflect the pulse of Brazil. We also want to connect with people who share our vision of rescuing affections, dreams and stories”. Today, “when I select the works of these admirable popular artists, I already consider them in other contexts, with movement and reflection, occupying rooms, interacting in environments whether in Brazil or abroad, dialoguing and opening doors of perception. After all, that's not what art is for?”, says Luiz Fernando.

For Sueli Voltarelli, General Manager of Centro Cultural Banco do Brazil Rio de Janeiro, the opening of space"is yet another invitation to CCBB visitors to dive into Brazilian art, and still have the opportunity to materialize this memory, this affective experience of contact with the art he had in our building, with our various programs, on an object, in an art book, into a physical memory that will follow with him to his home”.

In addition to the products on display, the space will also receive book launches, reading wheels, cafes with poem, miniexpositions, workshops and other activities that will be developed throughout the year.

Banco do Brasil customer has special offers in the Mão Brasileira store. When paying with Ourocard card, receives 20% discounts on works and artifacts and 10% discount on books.
