The curator, led by the visionary Visual Artist Maria Vieira de Souza, highlights Frida Kahlo's persistence and overcoming as a global inspiration in 22 works of contemporary art including paintings, photographs, digital art, assemblage and textile art, from 20 artists who highlight Frida Kahlo in their works, a global reference when it comes to persistence and overcoming.

“She was aware of her role as a woman in society and was pioneering paths so that women artists could be inspired and pursue their dream of painting at a time when male artists predominated in the art scene and women did not achieve visibility”, highlights Maria explaining that each artistic creation tells a facet of the history and legacy left by Frida Kahlo.

The exhibition presents the features, the colors, the forms and poetic expression that each artist printed in their production, characterized by the look he had towards the Mexican artist.

“A Frida Kahlo Traveling Exhibition – a woman ahead of her time pays homage to all women through creations that narrate parts of the artist's life. Resilience in the face of challenges led Frida to overcome obstacles and be reborn like a phoenix, ready to fly. The verse written by her when she was reflecting before amputating one of her feet, 'Feet, why do I want them, if I have wings to fly?’, It is a demonstration of strength and overcoming. Existem muitas Fridas espalhadas pelo mundo”, finaliza a curadora.
